Imagining Inclusive Public Engagement

Emily Dawson is Professor of Education, Science and Society at the Department of Science & Technology Studies at UCL. Her work is involved with exploring how people engage with science, how scientific practices might work to include as well as exclude certain people. As such, Dawson's work is focused on equity in science communication practices, as well as education and engagement. She is involved with Diversci, an organisation working to make institutions and organisations equitable and inclusive, as well as the YESTEM-project, which offers free tools and resources for practitioners, ensuring equitable informal STEM learning.
Barbara Streicher is executive manager of the Viennese Science Center Netzwerk. The center has built a network of numerous institutions organisation, offering a variety of activities for engaged science learning, focusing on disadvantaged groups, equity, and inclusion. The center spans 170 partners in Austria, and is working on systemically impacting science education and learning.
