Matthias Carol Nowoczyn is a predoctoral researcher at the Health Psychology Group of the University of Vienna under the supervision of Prof. Laura König, working within the Trustworthy Science Communication Platform. He holds a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Vienna. During his studies, he worked at the Psychology of Aging Unit and primarily investigated the psychological determinants of climate-related beliefs and behaviors in later life, specifically focusing on the role of political ideology.
In his doctoral research, he will investigate how science communication can foster trust in science across different societal groups, focusing on the communication of evidence which concerns behaviors and policies at the intersection of physical health and climate change. In this context, he also focuses on the role of political ideology in shaping trust in science and the reception of science communication strategies.
